Who Wants A Good Book?

I mentioned yesterday that Reading was one of the ways I refuel. I'm really enjoying "Confessions of a Reformissional Rev." by Mark Driscoll. I can't wait to share some thoughts from this book with you! Driscoll is building a tremendous church in Seattle Washington. So far, I have laughed a lot reading his account of planting Mars Hill Church. I have been able to identify with most of what he has written. I like the fact that he is very humble and quick to admit mistakes he has made along the way. I've made some of the same mistakes. It's nice to know I'm not the only one out here making mistakes.

I'm thinking it might be fun to give away some books. A book recycling program. How 'green' is that? Share the wealth. It's a shame to just let a great book sit on a shelf somewhere or hibernate in a box, when it could be blessing someone else. Why not pass it along to your friends?

Here's what I'll do. Every once in a while I'll post a book title from my collection of lonely neglected books, along with a quick review. If I don't like the book I wont waste your time with it! If it's a book I enjoyed I would love to pass it along for someone else to enjoy. If you have subscribed to my Blog, and are interested in reading that particular book, you can leave a comment on that post and at the end of the week I'll draw a name out of a hat, and send the book to it's new reader. If anyone else happens to read a good book and wants to pass it along, I'll be happy to find homes for your used books too.

In case you haven't noticed already, The column on the left has a Pastor's Picks section. I will try to pass along recommendations here on my blog. I also have My Wish List posted to the left. If you want to show a little love for the pastor, here are some books (aka fuel) that I'm interested in.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I'm excited about church! We will be serving communion in both morning services. We have a great video clip to remind us of what Christmas is all about and I will be speaking on 'Blessings From The Manger". We always have great music at Harvest and I'm sure tomorrow will be no exception as we worship and celebrate the birth of the Savior.

In case I haven't told you guys this lately! I love you and am so happy to be your pastor!
