"He Turns Deserts Into Pools"

Cool Water

"He changes rivers into deserts, and springs of water into dry, thirsty land. He turns the fruitful land into salty wastelands because of the wickedness of those who live there. But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water." Psalm 107:33–35

After carrying 50+ pounds of camera equipment down into this canyon above Springville today, I rested on the rocks and marveled at the beauty of God's creation. He is the ultimate artist and His canvas is always changing with time and the seasons. We must never forget that it is He that can change rivers into deserts and deserts into pools. We must honor the creator with our lives.

I wonder how many times our lives have been transformed from beautiful flowing rivers into dry and desolate deserts because of our own wickedness. Yet our God, the master artist, can also take a life that is a barren wasteland and transform it into pools of water.

Heading To The Hills

The Other Side Of The Fence, originally uploaded by Calpastor.

Kathy and I are headed up to Three Rivers for the afternoon. Iced tea, sandwiches, Bible, and camera...It's gonna be a good day. It's been a couple years since I've photographed the Three Rivers area.

Two weeks without preaching and I'm about ready to explode. I've enjoyed the time off to get moved and settled in but I'm ready to get back into the pulpit this Sunday, August 15th.

Devotional thought today...

John 13:13 "You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am."

What are you currently learning from Jesus? Is there anything you need to surrender to the Lord?

When You Finally Hang Your Hat, We'll Call It Home

It's been a week now since we pulled the big moving truck into the driveway here in Farmersville. A long, hot week. The church has been wonderful in welcoming us home. The house is beautiful, the kitchen was stocked, meals at the door, and so much more. Tonight, before heading over to watch Pastor Mac (85) baptize Jack (87), I noticed Kathy's hat hanging on the headboard and thought to myself, now it feels like home. Keep us in your prayers.
