I just ordered a copy of The Blogging Church from Amazon. I've been blogging for several months now and really enjoy it. I am thrilled with the potential of using this technology in the ministry. My blog gives me the ability to interact with my members daily. I can share devotional thoughts, messages, prayer requests, frustrations, funnies, my personality, announcements, and more through this a very easy to use media. Think about it, the ability to spend a few moments with all of your members without taking up you whole day. Of course, you still need to have face time with your members, but blogging allows you to connect with everyone daily while you go about making personal visits throughout the month. I would highly recommend any ministry to look into blogging. A personal blog for the pastor or one for the church. There is no easier website for a church than a Typepad blog.
Here's a few random thoughts concerning this blog...
- Thank You To Those Who Are Posting! Great Stuff Guys!
- Cutting And Pasting From Windows Works, But It's Better To Write In The Typepad Window. Some Of The Formatting From MS WORD Doesn't Work In The Feeds. You May Have Noticed In Your Feed Readers Or Email Subscriptions That The Words Appear To Be Invisible.
- Include Pictures. People Like Pictures.
- FeedBurner Gives All Kinds Of Stats And It Shows Someone Is Using Internet Explorer 6, Which Is Fine, But You're Missing Out! I Love Explorer 7! Tabbed Browsing, Favorite Feeds, And Faster. Free Upgrade.
- Send Me Your Church Website Links, I'll Post Them For You!
Again, Thanks for participating in this blog!
